Happy Tails

These stories are why we do what we do – which is rescue abandoned animals and give them medical care if needed, take care of them until we can find good homes for them. And if we can’t find good homes for them, we will commit to love and care for them for the remaider of their lives. We love Happy Tails! The ideal way to get an animal companion is to adopt a rescued one! Thank you to the people who come to look at our guys and take home the ones that touch  their hearts.

Another Happy Tail – December 2009. Another Happy Tail this month is BW.  Max who very recently lost Tazzy, adopted BW.   BW is a beautiful fox terrier, black and white, but he came to us emotionally compromised, relinquished to be put down at the Edmond Shelter. They said he was too wild and skittish. We could not get near him for six months, and then the ice broke, and when it broke he turned out to have one of those golden personalities…all love and licking and wanting to be with you in a considerate sort of way. Very considerate of other animals’ feelings and would put up with anything if that is what they needed.  Tried to accommodate people and animals the best he could and would police any fighting or grumpiness he saw…  tried to make sure everyone acted right,  He  looks like a little black and white cop.  We love him dearly, and we are so glad Max decided to give him a home.  Max reported that he did wonderfully…  ate well and his other dog liked him, and BW even slept in the bed with him from the start.  We could not be happier that Max gave BW a forever home with him.

This is Valero. So named for the service station parking lot where he was rescued by a caring person. Kevin came out the door and there sat "Valero" looking up at him and asking for help. Kevin rescued the small, starving kitten and brought him to Real Rescue. After lots of good food, good medical care, and plenty of love, Mr Valero has now found his forever home with a wonderful nurse who loves him very much. We are so happy for the little guy with the tough start in life !!!! Thanks Kevin !!!

He really seems to like feet!! A Happy Tail indeed!

Jacques was adopted by a wonderful couple and has a new name along with his new home, Master Ling. This is due to his uncanny resemblance to the darling Giant Pandas of China. We, and he, are so lucky to have found such a loving home with a couple of other dogs to play with and a warm bed by the fire in their bedroom this winter. We had Jacques for several years as he waited patiently for his home. He is a very special boy and now he has his forever home with a very wonderful and special couple. A wonderful photo of Chris’ niece Hannah Jacobs with a Real Rescue pup. We rescued a momma lab and 9 (NINE !!!) puppies that were living under an abandoned car in a field. Many rescues were contacted, but none would respond until they called us. All the pups found good homes, and the mother who was totally wild is happy in a large enclosure at our farm. We rescue many that have no other hope. So this would be 10 Happy Tails: 9 adoptions and a good mama dog saved.
