2010 Springtime Projects

March 30th, 2010 · Uncategorized

Springtime is work time at the farm, and if you are thinking about making a charitable donation to animals, then this is a great time to do it and jump start one of our spring projects. We get approximately 2,000 hits a month on our site, and we would be glad to link over to your website on our donor page, as well as providing a tax deductible receipt.

Some of our Projects for 2010:

65 kennels to build and  re-build.

A lot of river rock, thousands of pounds of course.

Kennel panels, especially gate panels.

Approx 2 dog houses per kennel (Large, not Xtra large, igloo type dog houses) which is approx 70 still needed. ($7,000+)

Hog panels for the flooring and wall extensions…about 150 of them at $20 each. ($3,000)

Some more six foot fencing at $122 per 100 foot rolls and need about 5 rolls. ($610)

Hog rings to tie things together which are $6 per 200.

Flea and tick preventative ($$$$) and bulk Ivermec at $107 per 500 mil. (use about 100 mil/mo)
Plus Panacur at $100 a bottle for the season.

Many sun-wind shelter tarps which are 20×20 at about $40 each.

Propane for hot water at approx $220 per 100 gals…hopefully for the summer season.

Please help with funds for vaccines

January 20th, 2010 · Uncategorized

Well it’s that time again… Three years go by quickly, and it is time for vaccines once again at the farm.   We would very much appreciate help in this effort as it takes about $1500 to do it all.

Thank you if you are able to help!  Hoping everyone is well and staying warm this winter.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Joyous New Year from Real Rescue

December 25th, 2009 · Uncategorized

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Joyous New Year from Real Rescue to all our precious friends and supporters.  We survived the Blizzard of  ’09 and are digging out like everyone else in Oklahoma.  Due to prior warning from our great weatherguys we had time to prepare as best we could for the onslaught.  Then with warming straw in all the doghouses, tarps to block the wind, good food, and fresh water, all are as comfortable as possible in this frigid weather.  By this time next winter we will have the building up for all the dogs that need to be totally inside!!!  That will be a wonderful thing.  We want to thank everyone who has lent their financial, emotional, and hard physical work to Real Rescue this past year !!!  We, and all of our animals, are most appreciative as we move forward into the New Year.  Thank you all and God Bless you all!

Two More Happy Tails

December 23rd, 2009 · Uncategorized

Wonderful Golden, totally housebroken and waiting for a new home. Was abandoned and trying to make his way on the streets of the city. Sweet guy and will be a wonderful companion to a lucky person or family. Call Dana at 405-414-5651 for more information

Golden had been abandoned and was trying to make his way on the streets of the city.   Wonderful Golden has found a forever home with a truly lucky person!  Another Happy Tail – December 2009.

Another Happy Tail this month is BW.  Max who very recently lost Tazzy, adopted BW.   BW is a beautiful fox terrier, black and white, but he came to us emotionally compromised, relinquished to be put down at the Edmond Shelter. They said he was too wild and skittish. We could not get near him for six months, and then the ice broke, and when it broke he turned out to have one of those golden personalities…all love and licking and wanting to be with you in a considerate sort of way. Very considerate of other animals’ feelings and would put up with anything if that is what they needed.  Tried to accommodate people and animals the best he could and would police any fighting or grumpiness he saw…  tried to make sure everyone acted right,  He  looks like a little black and white cop.  We love him dearly, and we are so glad Max decided to give him a home.  Max reported that he did wonderfully…  ate well and his other dog liked him, and BW even slept in the bed with him from the start.  We could not be happier that Max gave BW a forever home with him.
